PROMPT Speech Therapy
Elevated Outcomes is pleased to offer PROMPT Speech Therapy in addition to our Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy services for children.
PROMPT Speech Therapy helps children with speech-sound production disorders produce useful, functional language through a tactile-kinesthetic approach. A trained Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) uses touch-cues to physically move the child's jaw, lips, vocal cords, and tongue, teaching the child how to articulate the motor movements required to form functional words – words like "Mom" and "eat."
Scientific studies have demonstrated the effectiveness of PROMPT, or Prompts Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets, since the treatment was first developed in the 1970s. It continues to be an active field of study within Speech Pathology.
Children with autism, ADHD, speech apraxia, and other speech-affecting conditions can see significant improvement through the techniques of PROMPT therapy. Our PROMPT trained Speech Pathologist will work with your child as little as once a week or as often as they need, helping them produce functional language while making learning fun!
